Keep Actual, comparison notation, absolute changes and relative changes aligned within the KPI trend area.
Build the business comparison
- Bind Actual, a Trend axis, and your Target/Prior period/Forecast measures.
- Choose Trend chart → Chart type → Column IBCS.
- Set the applicable reference scenario and variance-band options under IBCS scenarios and comparison.
- Choose Arrow or Bar variance notation, scenario patterns, band titles and relative precision.
- Enable responsive band collapse, or a collapse/expand control, for compact cards.
Color and scenario notation
Actual columns default to solid #404040. Plan/reference outlines and forecast hatching communicate scenario meaning separately from good/bad status. In v1.26.13, absolute variance bands default to favorable/unfavorable colors, including forecast hatching in the status color.

Difference highlight and Axis Break
Difference highlight can add a connector/arrow and an absolute, relative or combined label, with ellipse/circle highlighting where selected. Axis Break can compress a large value interval to reveal small deviations. These annotations use fixed-pixel geometry and keep the original values.
Existing monochrome bands
If an older report saved monochrome bands, enable Trend chart → IBCS scenarios and comparison → Use favorable / unfavorable variance bar colors. Explicitly saved Off is retained.
