Less report assembly. More time explaining the result.

Use the built-in comparisons, financial structures and filtering tools to make polished reports easier to build and maintain.

The Filter Box: a sidebar without the gymnastics

Stop assembling individual slicers, frames, back buttons and bookmark states just to show or hide a sidebar. The Filter Box puts these report-filtering controls in one responsive container. Resize it once, let its slicers reflow, and use its own collapse button.

  • Up to 100 slicer fields in one well; choose dropdowns, lists, buttons, ranges and date controls.
  • Compact typography, padding, option heights, dropdown height and configurable responsive rows/columns reduce canvas clutter.
  • Linked Country/Product/Channel choices keep the available values relevant and clear incompatible retained choices.
  • Calendar and fiscal MTD/QTD/YTD buttons apply Date filters to the report, with Current Date or Slicer Selection basis.
  • Buttons-only layouts can leave just MTD/QTD/YTD visible while retaining the Date inputs behind the scenes.

An entire period selector can be just three buttons.

For connected Date filtering, this can remove repeated MTD/QTD/YTD DAX wrappers around otherwise reusable measures. Measures with deliberate ALL/REMOVEFILTERS behavior still follow their own definitions. Date relationships, fiscal attributes and independent year-over-year measures remain part of the model.

Allure KPI Card: a complete performance card

Replace repeated variance measures and overlapping text boxes with a card that explains its own headline. Bind Actual and the reference measures once; the card calculates deviations, formats units together and places the trend where it fits.

  • Two or more bound comparisons can use favorable/unfavorable arrows, circles or circle-with-arrow icons.
  • Line/area trends, IBCS columns and waterfalls, progress and bullet progress keep the explanation with the KPI.
  • 334 bundled Icons Studio icon types in 32 categories, 4 styles, color, shape, stroke, scale and placement controls.
  • Custom, Rows and Uniform layouts reuse the same settings across category cards; click a card to select its category.
  • Dynamic Label/Subtitles, native fx where supported, full-name wrapping and independent spacing reduce manual design work.

A single card contains the headline, two comparisons and a comparison trend.

The Matrix: financial structure with visual explanation

Start from a Table, then switch to Chart without rebuilding the report. Hierarchy, bold subtotal/Result rows, automatic PY/PL/FC deviations and embedded charts can share the same bound values.

  • Financial and Mathematical modes distinguish positive-stored costs from already-negative expenses.
  • Result and inherited cost settings remain attached to their hierarchy scope during expansion and collapse.
  • Row/column formulas, custom subtotal rows and dynamic context headings support focused calculations.
  • Column visibility can apply to every group or a specific MTD/QTD/YTD group, including YTD-only Forecast.
  • Sparklines, progress, gauges, pie, state and variance marks offer another explanation of the same column.
  • Percentage source values remain percentages while their variance uses pp/bp/bps, independently per row or formula column.

The Charts: the comparison is already integrated

Use the visualization’s own notation, rather than layering multiple chart objects and drawing the variance yourself. Thirteen families include period trends, twelve waterfall logics, financial Sankey and distribution charts.

  • IBCS Variance keeps two aligned bands while its main plot switches among 22 combinations.
  • Integrated Line/Area variance colors only the gap between Actual and Reference, including crossings.
  • Results, missing endpoints, cost changes, Difference highlight and Axis Break explain bridges without altering the source values.
  • Scenario patterns, per-series conditional colors/fx, multiple references, bands, error bars and min/max marks provide context.
  • I–MR, X̄–R/S, p/np/c/u charts and Histogram capability analysis include real limits, automatic subgroups and information tooltips.
  • Local legend focus and zoom clarify the chart; category selections retain the Power BI report interaction.

One visual aligns relative changes, absolute changes and the scenario comparison.

Where the model still matters

These features reduce repeated presentation and loaded-data calculations. They do not replace model relationships, original KPI definitions, semantic-model totals or specialized business logic. Price–Volume–Mix uses the explicit measures in this guide; a visual does not infer a product’s price and quantity from one Sales total.
